Special emphasis was placed on practical guidance and prevention, aiming to ensure that all participants in kickboxing competitions act in accordance with the principles of fair play and sporting integrity.

RUGBY UNION AT ANTI-DOPING EDUCATION: KNOWLEDGE AS THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS CLEAN SPORT

In cooperation with the Rugby Union of Montenegro, an educational workshop on the topic of doping in sport was held. The goal of the workshop was to inform athletes about the dangers of using banned substances, the procedures involved in doping control, and the importance of preserving the integrity of sport through responsible behavior.
During the session, athletes were presented with up-to-date information on the list of prohibited substances, testing procedures, and the health and career risks associated with doping. Special emphasis was placed on the responsibility that every athlete has towards themselves, their team, and the sport.
The participants showed a high level of interest, asking numerous questions about supplements, medical treatments, and the rules they must follow to stay within legal and ethical boundaries.
Such educational initiatives play a key role in preventing doping and developing healthy habits among athletes, especially younger ones. Through open discussion, questions, and the exchange of experiences, rugby players gained practical knowledge that will help them make informed and responsible decisions throughout their careers.

The workshop brought together athletes and sports personnel from the Judo Federation of Montenegro, the Bodybuilding Federation of Montenegro, and the Powerlifting Federation of Montenegro. Participants had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge through both theoretical and practical sessions.

Key topics included:

-Fundamental principles of the World Anti-Doping Code (WADA),

-Health risks and consequences associated with the use of prohibited substances and methods (including supplement use),

-Obligations of athletes to update their Whereabouts via the ADAMS platform,

-Step-by-step urine and blood sample collection procedures – including a live demonstration using sample collection kits (KIT).

Special attention was given to the importance of maintaining the integrity of sport through education, transparency, and cooperation among all stakeholders in the sporting community. Participants also addressed common challenges athletes face in meeting anti-doping requirements and discussed practical solutions for remaining compliant.

The Anti-Doping Commission of Montenegro continues to implement educational programs across the country, aiming to raise awareness, strengthen the anti-doping culture, and safeguard clean sport.

On May 7th and 8th, the Anti-Doping Commission conducted an educational session on the Fundamentals of Anti-Doping, intended for the male and female cadet handball national teams.

Although still young, these athletes approached the topic with great seriousness and showed strong interest in learning more about anti-doping. During the session, they were introduced to the basic rules of anti-doping, the procedures of doping control, as well as the health and ethical risks associated with the use of prohibited substances in sport.
The young athletes proved to be highly engaged participants – they asked questions, shared their opinions, and demonstrated that awareness of the importance of clean sport is present even among the youngest generations.
This educational activity once again confirmed that it is never too early for future professional athletes to become familiar with the principles of fair play and healthy sporting values.
