Exceptions for therapeutic purposes
Therapeutic use exemptions (TUEs) allow athletes to use certain substances and / or methods from the Prohibited List for the current year, in order to treat certain diseases and medical conditions.
The use of Prohibited Substances and / or Methods on the Prohibited List, or Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE), may be approved when there is a clear and necessary medical need (indication).
Exemptions for therapeutic purposes are regulated by the International Standard for Therapeutic Exemptions.
The approval of TUE is done in accordance with the International Standard for Exemptions for Therapeutic Purposes of WADA, the Anti-Doping Rules of Montenegro, the Ordinance on Therapeutic Exemptions of the Commission, as well as the List of Prohibited Doping Substances.
Submission of requests for therapeutic exemption is done through the Form for therapeutic exemptions.
