A Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of anti-doping education was signed with the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in Nikšić, University of Montenegro

The Director of the Anti-Doping Commission of Montenegro signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of anti-doping education with the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in Nikšić, University of Montenegro, together with the Dean, Prof. Dr. Jovan Gardašević, and the Vice-Dean for Teaching, Prof. Dr. Ivan Vasiljević.

Direktorica Komisije, Neda Ojdanić, istakla je značaj potpisanog Memoranduma za buduće generacije sportskih radnika:

„Zahvaljujem dekanu i Fakultetu za sport i fizičko vaspitanje što su prepoznali naš rad i važnost antidoping edukacije. Ovaj Memorandum znači mnogo za buduće profesore, trenere i sportske novinare jer im omogućava da tokom studija steknu znanje koje će kontinuirano nadograđivati. Time se obezbjeđuje stalna edukacija i stvaraju temelji za zdrav, čist i fer sport u Crnoj Gori“, kazala je Ojdanić.

The signing of the Memorandum represents a significant step forward in improving anti-doping policies in Montenegro and in the systematic introduction of anti-doping education into the higher education system. Future sports professionals, teachers in primary and secondary schools, coaches, and sports journalists will already have the opportunity during their studies to become familiar with anti-doping rules and continuously improve their knowledge through workshops and educational programs that will be implemented by the Commission.

The Memorandum defines cooperation aimed at raising students’ awareness of the importance of the anti-doping field, protecting health, and implementing promotional and educational activities on the harmful effects of doping substances. The Commission will provide expert support, educators, and the necessary materials for the implementation of the planned activities.

The Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Jovan Gardašević, and the Vice-Dean for Teaching, Prof. Dr. Ivan Vasiljević, expressed great satisfaction with the signed Memorandum and extended special thanks to the Director of the Commission.

The Vice-Dean for Teaching, Prof. Dr. Ivan Vasiljević, stated that this agreement represents an important step toward stronger cooperation between the academic community and institutions dedicated to preserving the integrity of sport:

“By signing this Memorandum, we confirm the Faculty’s commitment to providing students with modern knowledge and competencies in the field of doping prevention and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. We believe that this cooperation will contribute to the alignment of efforts aimed at protecting health, as the most important resource of every athlete, as well as to strengthening awareness of ethical principles and fair play in sport.”

This Memorandum strengthens the anti-doping culture in Montenegro in the long term, creating space for raising awareness about the harmful effects of prohibited substances and the importance of ethical, healthy, and fair sporting behavior among athletes and young professionals in sport.
